Participants will choose their own 2-man teams and be placed in 4 team pods. Teams will schedule their own matches and play each team in the pod. Teams must have all pod matches done by June 30th. The **knockout bracket will be released with dates once all matches are done. Participants who sign up are expected to play all matches. This tournament requires multiple matches and members are expected to be available multiple times a month and on weekends for play. Members who are not able to play frequently are discouraged from entering. Any team that does not finish may be sanctioned by the tournament committee in a manner deemed appropriate including future tournaments. Teams should consider playing 1 vs 2 or two 9-hole rounds if it appears a match will not be completed.

**The knockout phase will have the top two teams from each pod advancing into a 12-team single-elimination bracket.

Match Tiebreakers – No match may end in a tie. 

Pod Play Tiebreakers: Each team will play one match against each other team in their pod. Team(s) with the best records in each pod after the completion of all matches will advance to Bracket Play.  If there is a tie, the tie will be broken using the following procedures: 

• If teams have identical records:
  • The best +/- differentials will advance. (Example: Team 1: Match 1: Wins 3&2 (+3) / Match 2: Loses 3&2 (-2) / Match 3: Wins 6&5 (+6) Total points for team 1= 7pts
    • If a Match is conceded on a hole that is unfinished the conceding team concedes the hole in addition to the match. If it is likely the hole will be tied the team wishing to concede the match should discuss a concession of the hole as tied prior to conceding the match.  
• If teams are tied and two of them have identical +/- differentials, revert to head to-head to break tie.
• If teams are tied and all have identical +/- differential, Tallgrass Mens Club Golf Staff will blind draw from hat.

• 14 club rule, one ball rule, and as an alternative to the stroke and distance rule, USGA local rule E-5 is in effect for a lost ball and a ball out of bounds for the entire tournament.
• “Out of Bounds” is defined by white stakes, walls or fences around existing homes, perimeter fences, and curbing
• The agreement of all 4 players may change all rules. The default venue is Tallgrass GC.
• Drop zones are located on holes 2, 9, and 17.
• Play off the low handicap in the group. Handicap is determined on the “day of” the match by the players.
• If an opponent concedes a putt or stroke, the putt or stroke may not be made. If it is so made the partner (the player who did not make the stroke) is out of the hole.
• There are no ties. Continue to play to the 1st hole until a winner is determined.
• POD tiebreaker is head-to-head. All places that earn money in the knock-out brackets will be determined by playing a match and no tiebreakers will be used.
